2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Performance Features

The 2018 Challenger SRT Demon was designed with absolute drag strip domination in mind. The limited-production model has a powerful supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® Demon V8 engine that produces an astonishing 840 horsepower, making it the most powerful muscle car in the world. It has the fastest quarter-mile time of 9.65 seconds at 140 miles per hour, and it puts out 770 pound-feet of torque. The Challenger SRT Demon uses a variety of proven drag racing strategies along with some technology-firsts to reach this incredible amount of power.

Dodge//SRT engineers worked tirelessly to make the 2018 Challenger SRT Demon more powerful, looking at every inch of the vehicle’s design to maximize efficiency and performance. Other updates to the Challenger SRT Demon include an upgraded prop shaft with a 15 percent increase in torque capacity, a rear differential housing that has 30 percent more torque capacity and adds a new material for the gear set that has higher fatigue strength, and rear half shafts that are larger in diameter, use a high-strength, low-alloy steel and have 41 splines to deliver 20 percent more torque capacity.
