However, the MPG ratings of some SUVs are still respectable and impressive, and that includes the 2017 Grand Cherokee. With an EPA-estimated 26 highway MPG, you’d be hard pressed to find a similar SUV with a better fuel economy. The Grand Cherokee isn’t too bad in the city either, as it averages up to 19 MPG.
Now, how do those ratings compare to competitors? Pretty well, actually. The 2017 Toyota Highlander’s average highway MPG comes in at 24, and the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse only hits at 22 highway MPG. Both of those SUVs are formidable rivals of the Grand Cherokee, yet they don’t quite stack up in terms of gas mileage.
